Lord Jitesh Gadhia hosted the launch of the India-UK Legal Exchange Programme at the House of Lords on Wednesday 7th February 2018. The purpose of this programme is to organise an exchange of lawyers from the UK and India to provide them both with an opportunity to better understand the legal systems, law firms, policy development and political processes of both countries. The launch welcomed the first delegation of Indian junior lawyers visiting the UK. A reciprocal delegation of British lawyers will go to India in 2019.

Speakers at the launch event included Lord Gadhia; Pranav Bhanot, Assistant Solicitor at Wiseman Lee LLP; David Werschof, Senior Partner at Wiseman Lee LLP; Stephen Watmore, Partner at Wiseman Lee LLP; Kishan Chandarana, head of Legal at the London Metal Exchange; Angeli Vadera, Solicitor at Keoghs and Chair of the Hindu Lawyers Association (HLA); a representative from the Law Society; Manoj Ladwa, a dual qualified lawyer and founder of India Inc and Personal Injury Lawyer and President of Society of Asian Lawyers, Ranjit Sond. Manuj Bhardwaj, Founder & Managing Partner at BSM Legal Advisors outlined what the India partners within the programme hoped to achieve with the delegation and the activities planned for the reciprocal visit.

The event also saw the launch of ‘A Living Bridge: A Living Bridge: The UK-India Diaspora & The Rise of The Millennials’ which is edited by Pranav Bhanot.
