About Satya Paul

Established in 1985, Satya Paul is India’s premier design label with an International presence. The brand is acclaimed for ingenuity in design and a vivid color palette. As part of Genesis Colors since 2001, the brand has grown from strength to strength and is now present at over 35 locations in India and select high street boutiques abroad. Satya Paul also has a strong presence with its ecommerce portal and presence on all prominent web ecommerce websites , namely, Amazon, Myntra and Jabong.

At a time when there was little or no awareness about fashion or the idea of designer brands in India, Satya Paul introduced the idea of choreographed collections in 1985. The brand’s take on print innovations and use of vivid color palettes did not only change the way the consumer previously looked at Sarees, but also developed a specific niche for concept-based designs. Women no longer restrict themselves to hereditary Benarasis as Satya Paul has been instrumental in bringing about this change with the new-age Saree, that is easy to wear and chic. With print as its DNA, the brand has moved on to explore ready-to-wear and accessories that have a universal appeal.

Priyanka Bose in Vivienne Westwood for the Oscars 2017

“Lion” actress Priyanka Bose wore a custom-made eco-conscious Vivienne Westwood Couture gown (pictured, top right) to the at the 89th Academy Awards ® on February 26th, 2017. The gown was accessorized with exclusive pieces from Atelier Swarovski’s first fine jewelry collection and featured Swarovski crystal in the dress detailing. Both gown and jewelry were worn in support of Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress initiative.

The custom designed gown, is created in a jewel toned silk and lurex floral jacquard fabric, recycled from a past Vivienne Westwood collection. The pattern cutting technique has been designed to keep waste to an absolute minimum, using only 320 cms for the design. Leftover sequin film, usually left as waste from sequin production, is embroidered to the bodice of the dress creating a honeycomb effect, highlighted with reclaimed Swarovski crystals for added sparkle.

Inspired by nature and driven by science, Swarovski brings conscious luxury and innovation to the red carpet with the Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry Collection, handcrafted in a Parisian atelier and featuring Swarovski Created Diamonds and crystals.  Swarovski Created Diamonds are grown in a state-of-the-art lab and have the same optical, chemical and physical attributes as mined diamonds.

It was a dream come true to be able to wear this custom-made Vivienne Westwood gown and the first collection of Atelier Swarovski Fine Jewelry,” gushed Bose. “I felt like a queen! To be a part of this campaign that helps improve our environment and give back is a powerful thing. I try to live a minimalist lifestyle, but I am constantly learning and Red Carpet Green Dress has taught me that we can all do our part to help.”

Bose joined the rest of the cast for the current six-time nominated film “Lion”. Bose portrays “Kamla Munshi” alongside Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman in the feature film.

For the 2017 Oscars-inspired campaign, Red Carpet Green Dress partnered with Atelier Swarovski and Earth Friendly Products, maker of ECOS™ Laundry Detergent to help raise funds for MUSE School CA. Pakistan Fashion Week London marks 70 years of independence

London’s historic Lancaster House on 20th & 21st May 2017 witnessed the first Pakistani celebration of fashion in its two hundred year history – the eleventh season of Pakistan Fashion Week (PFW) London took place over the weekend with over forty of Pakistan’s leading and emerging designers presenting their latest collections. Umar Saeed, Shameel Ansari, Sana Safinaz, Maria B and Maheen Khan headlined with leading Pakistani models Fouzia Aman, Fia khan and Eshal Fayyaz walking the ramp.

The PFW London production, by leading event directors Riwayat led by creative director Adnan Ansari, was a celebration of the 70th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence. Organised in partnership with the High Commission of Pakistan London, the event was one of a series of events planned by His Excellency Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UK.

Designer MaazJee paid tribute to founding father of Pakistan Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah with a collection inspired by his clothing, whilst a fusion of east-west designs from Maheen Khan and Shameem Ansari stole the show.

It was from Lancaster House that the Pakistani flag was sent to Pakistan’s first ever embassy at Lowndes Square in London. Over two thousand people registered for the event which saw a catwalk run through the three grand halls of the Royal Palace. A nine room exhibition allowed the guests to talk with the designers and buy from their collections. A fitting return to Lancaster House, some 70 years later, to celebrate Fashion – one of Pakistan’s leading export industries and a growing multi-billion pound industry.

Adnan Ansari, Creative Director at Riwayat said “It was a privilege to work so closely with the High Commission to deliver this hugely successful event. Their commitment to deliver a truly inspiring event matched with Riwayat’s expertise and ability to deliver was a powerful force. We are so proud of our Pakistan and so proud to present it’s best face on a huge platform in London.

PETA India launches first vegan fashion lookbook

Komie and Meg Vora, the founders of vegan fashion brand Delikate Rayne, recently travelled to Mumbai to collaborate with PETA India on the first vegan fashion lookbook. Delikate Rayne whose designs have been embraced by the likes of Kendall Jenner and Rachel Zoe,  showcase nearly a dozen stylish outfits in the new lookbook that are all composed with eco- and animal-friendly materials that stand on their own without fur, leather, wool, or exotic skins.

Modelled by two long-time PETA India supporters, Bollywood stars Adah Sharma and Harshvardhan Rane, the looks encompass both Western styles and the vibrant ethnic clothing that India is known for. The lookbook features five different looks each for men and women: Festival Vibes, Date Night, Dinner With Friends, Club Life, and Athleisure. Numerous top brands are highlighted, including Alexander Wang, adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, Diesel, Zara, Delikate Rayne itself, and many more.

This lookbook is a fun way to show consumers how stylish vegan fashion can be“, says PETA Director Elisa Allen. “With so many innovative animal-friendly fabrics available – everything from leather made from pineapple leaves to ‘cashmere’ made from soya beans – there’s no reason to turn animals into fashion victims.

The Vora sisters are part of a growing trend of vegan fashion influencers. More and more designers are using fabrics that don’t bleed – and for good reason. As revealed by PETA – whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear” – cows killed for leather, snakes killed for their skin, and other animals killed for their fur are often mutilated and even skinned alive, and impatient wool industry workers have been caught throwing, beating, and stamping on sheep. For more information, please visit
